FAQ: FAQ

IS EVERYTHING I TALK ABOUT IN SESSION CONFIDENTIAL?

Yes, but with three exceptions that are mandated by law to report: harm to others, harm to self, and abuse.

  1. If you share that you will cause physical harm to another person. I am required to inform that person and the police in order to secure their safety.

  2. If you share that you will cause physical harm to yourself. I will work with you to find a way to keep you safe, but I must call the police if you are unwilling to do so or if I feel that you are at risk.

  3. If you share information of abuse or neglect to a child or vulnerable adult. This information will be reported to the ABUSE Hotline who will then assign the case to the appropriate agency to investigate.

Please be aware that this will be discussed during the initial session and throughout treatment.

HOW LONG ARE SESSIONS?
